It's with that in mind that Hireology is looking to add a QA Engineer to the Engineering Team.
Hireology is based in Chicago, but our Engineering team works remotely, so you'll be able to work from the comfort of your home. We have regular company-wide events, semi-annual team gatherings, and frequent celebrations when we hit our goals.
The QA Engineer will be responsible for:
- Contributing to an easy to use, award winning product
- Executing front-end tests for our Web (desktop and mobile web), and/or Mobile applications
- Executing back-end tests for our databases, APIs and microservices
- Participating in agile ceremonies and following a documented SDLC
- Contributing to the writing of user stories especially acceptance criteria
- Assisting in the development of detailed, comprehensive and well structured test cases
- Assisting in the identification, reporting, and triaging of defects
- Assisting in the development and running of automated test suites
- Assisting with developing test strategies and test cases to ensure we are delivering high quality new features and enhancements to existing functionality
- Participates in code and test peer reviews and implements changes based on feedback
- Assisting with the writing of technical documentation
- Communicating the challenges and limitations of quality assurance to technical and non-technical audiences

Okay, we've laid out what the job is - now are you qualified? Here are the minimum qualifications we're looking for in a QA Engineer:
- Experience with current web and mobile application development
- Experience with test automation of web applications (bonus for experience with Selenium w/Java and REST Assured)
- Experience with testing the backend components of an application (databases, APIs, and services)
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Comfortable in a modern software engineering environment with distributed source code control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, extensive testing, and continuous deployment
- Have exposure to current HTML, CSS, JavaScript testing standards
- Excited about learning new technologies and technical approaches to application testing across our entire technology stack
