Job Scope:
BI Testing professional will work directly with the BI Development team to validate Business Intelligence solutions. Build test strategy and test plans and test cases for ETL and Business Intelligence components. Validate SQL queries related to test cases and produce test summary reports.
Ensures all business, functional and design requirements are met. The role will require active participation in all phases of project from analysis through to test planning and execution of tests, implementation and post-live support and to also act as a focal point for client test activities.
Essential Functions:
- Work with Business Analysts, Business Owners, BI Developers and Functional Team members to translate Business requirements into Test Cases
- Responsible for construction and execution of test scenarios for validating the data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic, and loading the data in the target tables.
- Designing, documenting and executing test plans, test harness, test scenarios/scripts & test cases Designing, documenting and executing test plans, for reports and dashboard functional and data testing.
- QA best practices and methodologies to design, implement and automate processes

- Promotes best practices, data quality standards, and user's BI skills throughout the organization.
- Maintains acceptable documentation for work performed

- Executes other related tasks as directed by IT management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years' experience in Data Warehousing / BI Testing, using any ETL/ELT and Reporting Tool with Snowflakes / other cloud technologies
- 3 + years of experience in writing and troubleshooting SQL Queries in Snowflakes/ other cloud databases.
- Experience in understanding of ETL/ELT Source to Target Mapping Document
- Experience in testing the code ETL/ELT Tools like Matillion
- Experience in Validating the Power BI Dashboards / Reports
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Good experience of Quality Assurance methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, Scrum.
- Well versed with writing detailed test cases for functional & non-functional requirements.
- Experience on different types of testing like Black Box testing, Smoke testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, End-to-End Testing, Regression testing & User Acceptance testing (UAT) & Involved in Load Testing, Performance Testing & Stress Testing.
- Expertise in using JIRA / Excel for writing the Test Cases and tracking the Defects
- Experience in scripting languages like Python to create automated Test Scripts.
