The Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer II is responsible for executing and improving key QMS processes to drive improvements in FEUS processes and product quality, at a pace consistent with the needs of our strategic customers. This role works closely with the Manufacturing Process Engineers, Quality Control Personnel and Supplier Quality Engineer to identify and correct the root causes of unacceptable raw material, process, and/or product shifts. They also support the internal and external audit requirements, Non-Conforming Material, Documentation Control and Customer's Specification Control. In addition to responsibilities mentioned, the Quality Engineer provides organization support for core activities, such as PCPs, FMEAs, Product Development, Supplier Selection, Process Control Systems, Training Certification, and Calibration.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Driving problem solving methodologies (8D/MBPS) to find root cause of observed defects devise a short-term contaminant strategy and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems, per internal and external customer expectations, includes facilitating customer taskforce activities.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of PCP's and FMEA's.
  • Participate in Material Review Board and Change Control Board activities, interact with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
  • Actively lead and/or participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Support the manufacturing groups to design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Support consistent metrics and indicators (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring systems effectiveness.
  • Interface with suppliers and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Drive ISO-9001 initiatives to maintain certifications.
  • Reports directly to the Quality Manager
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or Quality Engineering, with specialization in Quality Systems and Statistics.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in QA systems, (semiconductor industry preferred).
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written/presentations) at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience for problem solving techniques such 5 why's, Fishbone, Process mapping, etc. to identify root cause and define CAPA.
  • Knowledge and experience as a quality assurance resource for data analysis, problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Experience in design and development of new product introduction.
  • Open to traveling. Visits to other manufacturing sites, supplier and customer sites (including occasional overseas travel).
  • Certified Quality Auditor / Engineer preferred.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
