Position at Dominion VUE / DMS

The QA Analyst's primary role is to perform testing of enhancements and defects in DDMS software products. All duties shall be performed in accordance with organizational policies and goals at DDMS which include maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The QA Analyst is responsible for testing items released from Development, and coordinates with Development and Operations staff to understand the requirements of the items, and if they are functioning as requested.

The QA Analyst is responsible for the following:

  • Performing UAT testing on items assigned to them and completing related system analysis using available tools.
  • Performing regression testing in a timely manner including maintaining all core test documents.
  • Identifying and escalating potential quality issues to management.
  • Generating enhancements, identifying and documenting software bugs identified during testing.
  • Performing in-depth analysis of customer reported issues and triaging them to the appropriate departments.
  • Facilitating efforts required to achieve certifications from OEM and Third-Party vendors.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to DDMS' core value of "Making Dealers Lives Better".


The QA Analyst will work closely with the QA Manager to implement and create automated testing plans.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time at the discretion of management.

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and understand business requirement documents and determine the best way to create tests for each item assigned to them.
  • Ability to compute accurate dealership activity scenarios, based on OEM regulations or business requirements. Basic math skills are required (e.g., ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, fellow workers, clients, and customers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret issues that arise from the data, software, or the client.
  • Maintains confidentiality of any PID they are exposed to.


Required Experience:

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams across multiple levels of the organization
  • Using Azure DevOps to document and distribute work items with clarity and precision
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to software applications using Microsoft-based applications
  • MS Office products
  • Strong process workflow and documentation skills
  • Understanding of server/database structure and the ability to write basic SQL queries and correlate the results to the application front end
  • Experience working with DMS programs


Preferred Education:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Advanced data analysis using SQL or PowerBI
  • API testing using Postman or similar tools
  • Background in automotive industry
  • Background in implementation or maintenance of automated testing


Area Specific Experience:

  • Parts
    • Familiarity with Parts functions of a Dealership including inventory, parts order, physical inventory processes
  • Service
    • Familiarity with Dealership Repair Orders, Appointments, Service Estimates, and Dispatching functionality
  • OEM (Preferred)
    • Familiarity with Warranty, Repair Order, and Parts Order submissions to OEMs
    • Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools
