This role will work on Mailchimp’s Mobile team, which is responsible for our iOS and Android native apps.  This role will be responsible for serving as a QA strategist; thoroughly testing a feature, thinking outside of the box, speaking up, and questioning norms. You will also lead a team of offshore QA Analysts as they contribute to testing and quality of new features & app stability. As our ideal candidate, you are flexible and autonomous, a great communicator, you have an eye for detail, defect detection, and experience in risk assessment.

A plus, if you have experience working in a startup or highly innovative, fast paced environment.

What you'll do here:

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design, engineering, and release process.
  • You will write user-focused test plans and test cases for product release.
  • You will document features for testing teammates, support agents, and cross-functional groups.
  • You will educate QA teammates on recently released features, experiments you’ve tried in testing, and upcoming releases.
  • You will communicate testing success and sticking points to product leads during release process.
  • You will investigate support tickets and user research for insight into day-to-day use of Mailchimp, and integrate findings into testing.
  • You will work with Test Engineers to identify areas of apps that benefit from automated testing and help prioritize the backlog of scripted tests.
  • You will facilitate manual testing & lead our established offshore team to test the mobile apps.
  • You will aggregate test results from manual testing, automated testing, and offshore testing into reports to be shared cross-functionally.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of mobile testing experience (strongly preferred)
  • You have the ability to use data and user knowledge to influence change cross-functionally
  • You are comfortable working on a small, independent team with a developing culture and dynamic work environment where priorities may shift frequently
  • You have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • You have strong research skills, including ability to understand user experience and fit it into testing
  • You have a strong understanding of modern testing practices
  • You have a proven experience establishing and advocating for the right balance between process and momentum
  • You have the ability to adapt priorities on the fly based on emerging needs for users and the cross-functional team
  • You have familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar ticketing systems
  • You have familiarity with browser based development tools and GitHub
  • Bonus points for experience working and testing within a high experimentation environment
  • Bonus points experience testing mobile applications and integrating automation tests writing with manual exploration
