Role

VMware's Tanzu vision is to help customers on every cloud, private or public. The role of Public Cloud Solution Architect will be to work with the product, engineering, field and partner organizations to help fulfill this vision. The perfect candidate will be a capable technical leader with product expertise within the public cloud ecosystem. The role would be responsible for making sure Tanzu products work & provide value on each cloud's ecosystem. The role will include both individual technical delivery with prototypes & reference architectures, organizational influence in working with product organizations to educate on public cloud opportunities as well as work with the individual cloud providers to promote Tanzu.

Responsibilities

• Serve as product owners of Tanzu products with the Public Clouds (Making sure the products work and have fit in the ecosystem)
• Ensure Tanzu's product success on the Public Clouds by producing reference material, product value propositions and sample applications
• Be a thought leader on best ways to promote Tanzu Products with each of the Public Clouds
• Work collaboratively with Product Management, Marketing & Engineering to continually refine VMWare Tanzu products on Public Cloud
• Be the technical face of Tanzu for cloud-providers, be able to build technical relationships with Cloud Providers product teams and connect them to Tanzu experts
• Continuously learn through experimenting with Tanzu products on Public Clouds and sharing of findings with team & community.
• Evangelise to the business and software community via shared mediums incl. Social media, articles, conferences, meetups, etc.

Required Competencies

• Have knowledge and experience with building & deploying enterprise or cloud scale applications
• Experience of whiteboarding complex concepts to a technical & business audience
• Experience and practical understanding of Public Cloud marketplaces & dynamics
• Knowledge of Agile & Lean methodologies and how they contrast with legacy practices
• Have an ability to collaborate and work interactively with our clients to ensure their successful deployment of VMware Tanzu technology
• Have an ability to empathise with co-workers and clients
• Are technically curious with appetite to learn and master emerging technologies
• Are coachable and willing to learn in order to adapt to a changing environment
