Job Responsibilities

As a member of Viasat's fast-paced production test engineering team, you will develop test solutions for a variety of Viasat products and services. Test solutions vary across RF/Microwave technologies, Power/Digital circuitry, Peripheral interfaces (GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi), and software/firmware/certificate configuration management. As a Project Test Engineer, coordination within integrated product teams will be required, as test requirements are refined and executed on throughout multi-year development programs. A balance of big picture management skills and a low-level technical foundation will help a candidate succeed in this role. Sustaining and continuous improvement of deployed test assets, both hardware and software, will also be involved.

Requirements

* 4+ Years of experience within related field

* Experience leading both test hardware and software development projects

* Experience managing and providing status on schedules, resources, and budgets

* Problem solving mindset when planning for and adapting to project risks, both technical and managerial

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

* Proficiency with programming in one or more languages such as Python, C#, or LabVIEW/TestStand

* US Citizenship is required

* Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferences

* Ability to architect, develop and implement test solutions that are deployable, maintainable, and efficient

* Strong foundation in RF testing and RF engineering principles, such as linearity, NF, Gain, VSWR, etc.

* Proficiency with test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, power meters, digital signal generators and noise figure meters

* Experience in designing and developing Specialized Test Equipment (STE)

* Experience with STE sustaining and maintenance activities

For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $94350 to $157950 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
