We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Project Design Engineer.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will report to the Water-Cooled Design Engineering Supervisor and be responsible for mechanical design activities related to various chiller programs, through the establishment of strong relationships with all engineering and marketing team members. Primary function will be as creating all REVIT/AutoCAD layout activities for NA HVAC Applied Products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate REVIT 3D models and AutoCAD drawings for customers per specifications and job requirements

Work with REVIT model outsource supplier for Standard Product offering. Confirm and verify REVIT models are per Chiller model configurations.

Work directly with Application Engineers (all Chiller Products) to provide customized REVITs and AutoCAD drawing submittal packages

Oversee Industrial Chiller Products coordination for submittal package creation.

Ensure designs meet both industry and Carrier design standards

Experienced with PTC CREO (5+ years min)

Experienced with WindChill - Version 11.0 a PLUS

General understanding of Change Management ECRs/ECNs

Organized with WindChill Product folder structure

Ability to effectively manage file storage via WindChill

Excellent skill and experience with drafting standards and procedures

Superb verbal and written communications skills

Some experienced with bill of material structure and databases - must be able to leverage prior experience with other systems to learn quickly.

Interfaces with manufacturing to ensure designs met the manufacturing process requirements.

Experience with 3D parametric components

Some experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing processes

General understanding with piping design and manufacturing processes

Experience with large assemblies

Some exposure to electro-mechanical control systems and components

Standard work continuous improvement

Catalog, verify, and document new and existing products and product features in Excel

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for several components of a project or a complex component of a larger project

Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work and performance in meeting schedules

Contributes to the team or department by applying knowledge of one or more of the functional areas

Fully developed professional able to work without direction or guidance or direction from others

Has in-depth knowledge of the discipline and role

Experience/Qualifications

Proven and tested in a design role or capacity

Ability to manage large and complex customized projects with guidance

Proficient in handling multiple projects concurrently

Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities

Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role-continuing to develop specialized knowledge

Strong working knowledge of the products, engineering documentation system and the ability to work within an engineering design team

Excellent problem solving and advanced analytical skills

Demonstrated detail orientation

Superior follow-up and follow-through skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Previous relevant job history experience in product design, especially HVAC product design and/or product sustaining

Demonstrated creativity in new product design

Works with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus

Ability to write procedural standard work instructions

Knowledge of and experience with GD&T standards is a plus

ASME Section VIII / pressure vessel code (BPVC) knowledge is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience
