The Role:

Ensuring that products are secure isn't simply a one-time decision of choosing what type of encryption will be used or how passwords should be stored - it is a continuous process that requires ongoing care and feeding to ensure that security is built-in to each product from the ground up.

As a Product Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of Vivint's products and services by collaborating closely with product teams, engineers, architects, and other groups throughout the organization to ensure that security is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert on information security for the product teams that you support
• Help your product teams identify, measure, and report on security and privacy risks
• Help portfolio, program, and product managers prioritize roadmap items in order to balance security and business risks
• Identify cross-functional security concerns and coordinate with teams and architects to develop common solutions and infrastructure
• Help connect product and engineering teams with security resources

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in product development, and a deep understanding of product lifecycles, development and release processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work well with stakeholders from multiple disciplines, including engineers, architects, designers, product managers, and business representatives
• Comfort in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to collaborate and find innovative solutions to solve complex problems

Additional Experience that would be beneficial:

• Experience working with one or more of the following technologies: Python, Go, Rust, Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, C/C++
• Technical experience in software or hardware development
• Background in information security, risk assessment, or related roles
• Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
