Meet the Team: 

The Autonomous Vehicle Product Release Engineering team ensures that Torc’s products meet the highest standards for quality, safety and functionality.   The manager of this team will lead the definition, design, development and release of Torcs products across a wide array of teams and components including software, hardware, systems, architecture and suppliers. This person owns the process to
design, release, and validate Torc products and components, leading the process from inception through launch.

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide leadership, direction and definition for the release management function including planning, scheduling, coordination, and
    implementation
  • Update, manage and maintain state of the art release framework
  • Serves as an technical subject matter expert for product release management
  • Define strategies for product release and associated risks with possible mitigations and verify product safety & functionality at all levels by applying state of the art release framework
  • Provide direction and train teams to apply quality methods such as 5W’s, DFSS, FMEA or others and ensure transparency to the release schedule and identifying and aligning environment needs for each release
  • Act as gatekeeper for delivery into production by ensuring understanding, monitoring, and tracking the progress of changes targeted for each release
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with PMO, Product Owners, Engineering, and other stakeholders within and between ARTs and teams to ensure strategic and execution alignment
  • Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes with the highest degree of quality and safety

What you’ll need to succeed: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent 
  • 10+ years relevant experience in engineering and 3 years leading engineers in the delivery of software solutions that include complex algorithm development and data models, with emphasis on best practices in coding standards, testing, and systems integration
  • Minimum 4+ years performing personnel management activities including but not limited to personnel timecard approvals,
    performance planning and evaluations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution, recruiting and onboarding, and ensuring compliance to software policies and procedures
  • 2+ years overall progressive technical systems or software development experience and 2+ years as individual technical
    contributor
  • Strong experience in software development, deployment of software products, and system engineering design, integration, and verification and validation
  • Understanding of autonomous technology including ASPICE is required

  • Able to collect, analyze, and report data related to team efficiencies and progress
  • Proficient knowledge working with product and/or quality managers, with understanding of business-level priorities
  • Keen attention to detail to identify problems and processes that don’t comply with protocol
  • Exhibit strong facilitation, technical team coaching, and critical systems thinking
  • Experience with developing hardware and software systems
