What you'll be able to do:

  • The Product Development Engineer must manage prototype vehicle builds from both a mechanical and electrical standpoint. The PD Engineer will lead troubleshooting and issue resolution of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing process issues that occur during any build.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Understanding of assembly processes used and required during build
  • Inspect prototypes after each separate phase of the build to ensure completeness and quality of execution of processes
  • Perform functional checks required before Commissioning of vehicles.
  • Utilize tools such as CANOE and Diagnostic Engineering Tool to monitor CAN bus traffic, simulate nodes, perform ECU configuration, read DTCs, read/write DIDs, flash and configure ECUs, and run ECU routines
  • Experience in automotive electrical systems testing, failure analysis, and root cause identification. Understanding of automotive schematics and wire harness drawings.
  • Must be able to collaborate closely with DR Engineers, suppliers and OEM partners on system integration and manufacturing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Self-directed, highly motivated, self-starter and skilled individual with strong demonstrated leadership and technical problem solving skills.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ months proven experience managing prototype vehicle builds from both a mechanical and electrical standpoint.
  • 6+ months proven experience leading troubleshooting and issue resolution of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing processes.
  • 6+ months proven experience utilizing tools such as CANOE and Diagnostic Engineering Tool to monitor CAN bus traffic, simulate nodes, perform ECU configuration, read DTCs, read/write DIDs, flash and configure ECUs, and run ECU routines

Our preferred requirements:
