Eaton's FEPC team, a part of our Vehicle group, is currently seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of our Southfield, MI office. No Sponsorship is available for this position

Position Overview:

Eaton's FEPC (Fuel Emission Product Controls) Team is an organization whose mission is primarily to deliver Fuel and Evaporative Emission components to the market, in support of vehicle launch programs.

This position's primary function is to perform all Design and Release responsibilities in support of Pro-Launch deliverables for assigned programs. The scope of responsibility is to complete all required testing, communicate with affected customers (both within and outside of Eaton), and support all timing requirements. The technical domain is Fuel and Evaporative Emissions vapor valves technical expertise in support of vehicular applications.

In this function you will:

  • Coordinates all Product Engineering deliverables in support of vehicle launch programs. These include usage of DFMEA, Boundary Diagrams, DVP&R, PVP&R as well as all DFSS disciplines.
  • Continuously develops commercially viable design solutions for new product opportunities in the Evaporative Emissions / Vapor Valve activity.
  • Contributes to completion of all aspects of the prototype development program including analysis, design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and test.
  • As workload allows, support all Cost Out efforts as well as Tool Moves, Tool Wear Outs, Continuing Engineering and Business Pursuit efforts.
  • Interacts well with Engineering, Design, Testing, Program Management, Sales, Supply Chain to accomplish program objectives.
  • Interacts with customers (typically Tier 1 and 2), partner, and supplier organizations (both prototype and production) to accomplish program objectives.
  • Clearly communicates to stakeholders both verbally and in writing


Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 months of Engineering related Internship or Co-op experience required.
  • Effective verbal communication and the ability to clearly and concisely report technical information in engineering reports and technical communications are required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.



Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's of Engineering degree from an accredited institution
  • A background in fuel system vapor valves
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer Creo or SolidWorks CAD modeling software
