We are looking for talented team member to be a part of a multidisciplinary team looking to innovate and push on new boundaries for memory usage in both Safety and Security Automotive systems.
The Cybersecurity/Functional Safety Engineer for Automotive market support is responsible for leading management system implementation and the development teams in the creation of a product which fulfils both cybersecurity and functional safety requirements. Looking towards international standards, customer requirements and automotive market trends, this role will be responsible to drive Micron in implementation on new processes and management systems, serving as the technical authority regarding cybersecurity and functional safety.
Product development activities shall begin during the concept phase of a project and extend through the serial development phase to the end of production.
The ideal candidate will have extensive technical design or product engineering experience within the semiconductor industry, product functional safety implementation experience in ISO 26262, and knowledge of cybersecurity methods and practices in order to support management system and process development towards ISO 21434.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of safe and secure memory according to ISO26262 and ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Create synergies between the functional safety and cybersecurity programs, processes and systems to increase effectiveness, efficiency and time to market.
  • Analyze the impact of ISO/SAE 21434 on Micron and drive the integration of cybersecurity into existing Micron processes to meet requirements of the standard.
  • Be a primary subject matter expert point of contact for ISO/SAE 21434 and ISO 26262 by engaging with external consultants and have responsibility for the interpretation of process-related ISO/SAE 21434 requirements on Micron products. This includes working with all affected departments to create a compliance plan harmonizing the integration with existing Standards (i.e IATF 16949, ISO26262, and ASPICE.
  • Engage Technical Leads in the definition process of cybersecurity technical requirements and implementation of the technical requirements of the product cybersecurity program in the project in accordance with the ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Provide input and feedback on robustness of Micron's cybersecurity lifecycle processes and engage peer resources to lead change and improvements.
  • Define plans in conjunction with Micron Cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure cybersecurity standards are being met throughout product development cycles.
  • Lead functional safety assessments and other confirmation measures which require independence and technical competence in compliance with ISO 26262 as a technical authority.
  • Support Cybersecurity audits and assessments. Ensure that adequate records are created to document evidence on performed cybersecurity activities providing recommendation according to existing best practice, preferable ISO/SAE 21434 guidelines.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall experience in an automotive engineering environment embedding the right mindset of the continuous improvement.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical product development role within the semiconductor industry.
  • 5+ proven experience in planning Product Safety and Cybersecurity activities, supporting the requirements of a project from concept through production required both from a technical and a process perspective.
  • Product development cybersecurity experience is preferred rather than threat analysis and testing experience.
  • Proven experience on methods for cybersecurity, threat analysis and risk management.
  • Knowledge of cyber security standards such as SAEJ3061, ISO 27001, ISO/SAE 21434.
