As a Principal Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing testing infrastructure on top of industry standard hardware platforms. In this fast paced role; you will have the opportunity to develop testing solutions for compute Intel/AMD x86_64 platforms [inclusive of CXL], AMD/NVIDIA GPU platforms and ARM-based mobile chipset platforms.
A successful applicant must develop a good understanding of test equipment hardware, product knowledge and software systems and will:

  • Work closely with ecosystem partners inside and outside of Micron to define systems testing roadmap
  • Develop, debug and support test programs from new platform introduction phase up through high volume manufacturing
  • Write test programs and support scripts in high level languages (C++, Python)
  • Analyze device and test flow data to make informed test coverage decisions
  • Balance test time objectives while maintaining yield and quality
  • Collaborate with partners in Product Engineering, Fab, Manufacturing, Yield Enhancement, Global Quality, Systems Integration Group, and Equipment Engineering teams to deliver the most optimal test solution


Qualifications
Developing systems-based test solutions will require constant learning and continued technical growth. A successful candidate should understand hardware fundamentals and possess programming capability in a major language. Additional qualifications and domain knowledge includes:

  • Computer architecture including modern processor features and memory hierarchy
  • Digital systems and logic gate representation
  • Intermediate to advanced programming capability [C++ or Python]
  • Familiarity with Unix / Linux environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic statistics and data analytics
  • Experience with software or hardware development on any x86_64, ARM platform is preferred
  • DRAM or memory controller related knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in any of firmware development, computing languages [openCL/CUDA], Android OS or knowledge of PCIe protocol considered a plus


Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
