The Global Architecture team partners and engages with business and technology leaders across all the business functions within the enterprise, ensuring that the business capabilities, process, data insights/information, and technology needs are accurately assembled and planned for short, medium, and long-term execution.

As a Principal Solution Architect for Sustainability, you will collaborate with a team of Solution Architects embedded in Nike's Supply Chain, Product Creation & Manufacturing, Planning and Corporate Functions to coordinate and deliver E2E Architectures that will help achieve Sustainability objectives for Nike. The technical strategy and architecture you and the team define will have a direct impact on Nike's Digital Transformation strategy.

You will engage, collaborate, and partner with team members across Business and Technology to understand long and short-term business strategies, provide thought leadership, and engage in proactive planning and delivery of executable designs. You will also be responsible for helping establish the practice of Enterprise Architecture within Nike and will bring broad experiences in driving quality & consistency across architecture methodology and work enterprise wide.

LOCATION: Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia.

Principal Solution Architect Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the overall architecture strategy for Sustainability with hands-on leadership in ideation and implementation.
  • Ideate and solution for key business use cases in collaboration with Product and Engineering partners
  • Deliver detailed solution designs following API first model, enterprise security standards and reference architectures
  • Lead solution optioning and recommendations for complex business problems.
  • Ensure architecture alignment across domains and enabling functions (verticals and horizontals)
  • Perform landscape assessment to identify technical debt and develop transitional designs to influence the delivery roadmaps
  • Provide technology mentorship and insight to business & technology leaders and delivery teams
  • Drive and facilitate the right discussions that determine solutions in relation to current and future technology landscape
  • Influence business and technology partners, as needed
  • Present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely focusing on key points to portray the intended message or purpose based on audience
  • Drive alignment with corporate strategies through strong business and technical thought leadership
  • Effectively manage priorities, work, and timelines with little need for escalation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Experience with design and activation of Enterprise-wide solution designs
  • Well-rounded knowledge of Supply chain management in retail and/or consumer packaged goods industry
  • 10+ years combined hands-on solution architecture and/or senior engineering experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom developed solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience developing strategy, E2E Solution architecture and creating technology roadmaps
  • Large enterprise experience inclusive of designing applications for global (multi-geo) platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of well-architected frameworks and experience designing platforms/systems for optimal performance, business continuity, compliance with security and privacy standards.
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud architectures with emphasis one or more of these areas: Data & Analytics, UI, Enterprise systems, API design & implementation, CI/CD and Security.
  • Strong collaboration & partnership skills to develop and influence design decisions.
  • Agile delivery experience along with the ability to articulate and document architectural decisions and roadmaps at a senior executive level is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements, and architecture conversations with all key team members (management, business users, and technology resources).
  • Self-starter with high motivation and passion to learn, thrive & adapt in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment

*Remote Work Option - Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

For employees based in Colorado, this position has an annual base salary range of $163,000 - $269,500.

For employees based in NYC and Westchester County, NY, this position has an annual base salary range of $193,500 - $321,000.
