Meeting your future team:

Joining Collibra’s Software Engineering team:

  • You will be part of the Metadata Lake team that is building a completely new product
  • You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and engineers and develop a general strategy
  • You will have the possibility to influence every part of the development cycle
  • You will have a holistic view of our user journey and help the product team build scalable applications

Principal Software Engineer's at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Coaching and mentoring our frontend engineers
  • Reviewing and participating in architectural decisions that impact our backend, from the rendering time of the browser to our data layer, from the local developer experience to our CICD pipeline. 
  • Modernizing our backend codebase with the newest best practices
  • Building, documenting, and evangelizing our backend strategy
  • Collaborating with the architecture team on technical solutions  

You Have:

  • 8 or more years of experience in Java software development
  • Experience with high load, highly available systems in the public cloud such as: AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Experience with containerization such as Kubernetes and Docker 
  • Experience in adopting best practices during design, development, testing, and delivery phases in an Agile environment
  • Experience with CI/CD and adoption
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required

You Are:

  • Very well versed with Spring, Spring Boot, Jenkins, and databases such as MySQL & PostgreSQL
  • Familiar with testing strategies and tools
  • A strong communicator and open-minded with a continuous improvement mindset

Measuring Success:

Reporting to Collibra’s Senior Software Engineer Manager, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will get familiarized with the backend architecture, the development flow and tooling used in Collibra.
  • Within your third month, you will have significant influence shaping backend architecture and development processes around it.
  • Within your sixth month, you will lead a new key product.
