About the job
The Red Hat OpenShift Data Science team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you'll contribute as a subject matter expert on data science workflow, tools, and algorithm implementation. OpenShift Data Science is a cloud service providing a development and experimentation environment for data scientists and is made up of popular open source projects including Jupyter, Tensorflow, Pytorch, and Kubeflow. You'll work with those tools to define requirements for engineering and work with customers on implementing their data science needs. In addition to the core platform, you will work with partners in our AI/ML ecosystem to integrate with OpenShift Data Science.
What you will do
- Become an expert on the use of OpenShift Data Science
- Work with product management and engineering on roadmap features for OpenShift Data Science
- Work with consulting, presales, sales, and technical enablement on materials for use in the field
- Collaborate with other team members of varying technical abilities on cross-team projects, including the ability to explain difficult technical concepts in simple terms to business users
What you will bring
- Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, or a related quantitative field; PhD is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis or consulting related to cognitive computing, text analytics, and natural language processing
- Ability to solve complex business problems using innovative analytical processes and techniques
- Experience using open source statistical computing toolkits like R, Tensorflow, Pytorch, and scikit-learn
- Data manipulation experience using Python
- Ability to communicate key insights and findings to business stakeholders
