Position Overview

We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer with experience in Server-side software development, to join our Fusion 360 Data team. This team develops, maintains and supports Data Management services, including Fusion Team, for Autodesk Fusion 360. Autodesk Fusion 360 is next generation CAD application with an ecosystem of Client & Server components, next generation Web client, SDK and a variety of Cloud Services that interact with world leading CAD Products such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Scrum team that maintains multiple micro services that are the foundation for Data for Fusion 360
• Develop high-level designs and implement highly scalable Web and Cloud solutions
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot features according to product specifications
• Collaborate with a team of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Software Architects, Product Managers and DevOps
• Re-factor and optimize source code to effectively leverage object-oriented design, development, and code reuse
• Deliver results that meet product user stories with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction
• Proactively and continuously evaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systems
• Research and prototype new ideas, technologies and patterns relating to the task
• Contribute to test automations not only in writing them but also in monitoring and maintaining them
• Provide leadership to the team in conjunction with other senior engineers

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technology field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud services and applications
• Ability to design scalable, available, resilient and cost-effective Cloud-based (preferably AWS) micro-services and customer-facing applications
• Experience in developing and maintaining large-scale micro services with strong understanding of Caching (preferably Redis), Distributed Tracing, Eventing (Preferably Kinesis) and Scaling techniques
• Experience in developing RESTful web services using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Jersey
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL database technologies, e.g. MySQL, DynamoDB
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot and Jersey
• Experience with Build and CI/CD tools like Ant, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins
• Hands-on experience with unit and automation testing tools such as JUnit, JBehave, RestAssured, Locust, JMeter, BlazeMeter, etc.
• Experience with log aggregation and operational event monitoring technologies like Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
• Experience with Tomcat and Nginx
• Experience with code quality tools such as Codacy and Sonar Cube
• Working knowledge of UML, Software Design Patterns, Distributed Systems, Resiliency and Security
• Strong troubleshooting skills by performing Stacktrace Analysis, Thread and Memory profiling, Remote debugging
• Experience with Git or equivalent version control system
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work with colleagues across different time zones
• Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack - ECS, Lambda, Batch, Step Function, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, SQS, etc.
• Familiarity with Python and Groovy
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React.js, Redux
• Experience with Agile development practices
• Experience with Search technologies like Lucene and Elasticsearch
• Experience working with Jira and Wiki
