The Opportunity
The Intelligent Viewing / Core Viewing & Transformation product team is a software development organization that provides publishing and viewing technology thatservice as the foundational viewing experience for multiple OpenText products in both on-premise and SaaS solutions. High quality and low latency viewing, andpublishing experiences are a baseline expectation from all OpenText customer bases, and this team delivers to those expectations.
We are looking for talented, experienced software engineers to join the OpenText Intelligent Viewing & Transformation Service Product Development organization.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly support our product and our customers by innovating on new ideas and methods, architectural patterns andpractices, and addressing customer issues and feature requests. You will be a senior member of the publishing team and part of a scrum team from design anddevelopment through to delivery. You will work closely with peer engineers, Dev & Cloud Ops, QA, documentation, and product management. You willmentor junior members of the team as well as collaborate with lead engineers from other groups within OpenText on best practices and techniques. You are great at:
- Being passionate about software development at all levels: architecture, design, implementation, test, and deployment.
- Developing C++ based, Windows and Linux runtime modules, for automated, unattended, parallel processing, integrated with in-house and 3rd party libraries and applications.
- Communication both written and oral as well as communicating with software engineers and product managers globally.
- Delivering high-quality software that is scalable, high-performing, and secure.
- Decomposing work into tasks that can be completed in days rather than weeks or months as a part of Scrum's framework.
- Moving products from an idea through feature request analysis, design, development, and test, and then into a production environment.
- Evaluating & adopting new technologies and innovating on concepts.
- Reviewing code of other software developers
- Mentoring junior software developers
What it takes:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information systems or related fields.
- Prefer 10 years of experience developing enterprise-class product solutions.
- Prefer 10 years working with C++, OO, MFC, ATL, TLB, .NET, MFC, COM/DCOM .
- Prefer 5+ years working with Office automation applications object model API (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Visio) and customizing with Office application features.
- Experience being a technical leader and innovator for a team.
- Experience with various MS Office documents file format standard, understanding object models for 2D vector file formats, familiar with raster file formats, and basic Matrix 2D/3D transformations
- Experience with inter-processes data communication, synchronization, and recovery.
- Experience developing with MS VisualStudio, and VB scripting, .
- Experience with CI/CD automation and tools such as TeamCity and Gitlab .
- Experience developing for Linux , C++11 is a plus.
- Proven history of building enterprise software products with a focus on performance, scaling, high availability, and security
