Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is a leading global provider of secure software-defined, hardware enabled mission systems. Our company is pioneering capabilities in a wide variety of sectors that keep our nation and our allies safe from undersea to space and cyberspace.
NGMS is seeking multiple applicants for a career in network engineering, responsible for designing and and planning network communications systems. Assignments may include:
- Providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
- Providing specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conducting testing of network design
- Maintaining technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluating and reporting on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
This position is located in Annapolis, MD but may involve travel to other NG locations and/or Government locations within the U.S.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
This position may be filled at either a Principal or Senior Principal Level.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Level:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering (3 years with MS; 0 years with PhD)
- Experience with physical networking including: Cisco and Palo Alto
- Experience with hybrid cloud virtual networking including: Open stack, VMWare, and AMS
- US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain an US Security Clearance at the Secret Level (or higher)
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Level:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline
- A minimum of 9 years of experience in network engineering (7 years with MS; 4 years with PhD)
- Experience with physical networking including: Cisco and Palo Alto
- Experience with hybrid cloud virtual networking including: Open stack, VMWare, and AMS
- US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain an US Security Clearance at the Secret Level (or higher)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Level Cyber Certifications
- Associate Level Network Certifications
Salary Range: $87,800.00 - $131,600.00Salary Range 2: $108,900.00 - $163,300.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay.
