As a Principal Robotics Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, perform research, and design and write the software that enables the next generation of intelligent machines to perform advanced manipulation tasks in manufacturing and beyond.. Our teams specialize in the areas of machine learning, motion planning and trajectory optimization, control, state estimation/SLAM, and software design for scalable robotics systems. You will have an impact that will be felt across multiple teams within the robotics department, as well across departments at the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform research and build algorithms from design, prototyping, testing, deployment, to productization.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence in software design, teaching others best practices and principals
  • Lead the robotics engineering group in the creation and development of new software
  • Develop modular and scalable software that enables rapid exploration and evaluation of new algorithms
  • Help lead the team by providing mentorship and contributing to the technical strategy

Who You Are

  • PhD, MS., or highly-qualified Bachelor candidate in computer science, robotics, engineering or related field
  • 7-10+ years of relevant research/work experience building out scalable software for machine learning, motion planning and trajectory optimization, control, and state estimation/SLAM
  • Highly proficient with either C++ and/or Python, with the ability to rapidly implement and iterate on ideas
  • Exceptional software development experience, including documentation, unit testing and version control
  • Experienced in Git, CMake and other relevant software engineering tools
