Salt Lake City, Ut or Orlando, FL.

The successful candidate will be the technical lead for a Collins Aerospace Simulation Solutions and Services visual systems product. The responsibilities will include:

  • The ability to create a technical vision from business needs
  • The development of technical roadmaps for the product
  • Detailed and accountable project management
  • Some travel (5%-10).


The candidate must have strong technical, leadership, and organizational skills, as well as project management experience.

The Simulation and Training Visual Systems Portfolio will allow you the opportunity to experience all facets of Collins Aerospace STS flight simulator visual systems development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engineering technical liason - single point of contact for the Product Line Manager (PLM), Business Development, Operations, Finance, and programs
  • Multi-disciplinary team leader for systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and quality engineering
  • Ensures that a product technical baseline is defined, verified, and ready for delivery to customers
  • Responsible to guide engineering development in accordance with sound technical and engineering development processes
  • Works with engineering managers to ensure that the project is appropriately staffed.
  • Manages a technical risk and opportunity register, along with the risks and opportunities
  • Leads engineering bid efforts
  • This position may require occasional travel both domestically and internationally
  • Strong teamwork orientation is a must
  • Capable of coaching


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Must have an engineering project management background
  • Must have experience with engineering bids
  • Must be able to show experience in leading a team
  • Computer Architecture Design experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in avionics simulation systems development, verification/validation, and interfaces would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and requirements and design capture tools including DOORS, ALM, Jama, ClearQuest, Subversion and PREP (or similar peer review tool) is desirable.
  • Candidate must be well organized and able to communicate effectively with engineering, leadership and customers.
  • Experience in supporting pursuit activities, including bids and proposals is also desired.
