About the Role:
GoodRx is looking for a full stack and polyglot software engineer to join our Observability team. Our mission is enabling our developers to build observable software systems and continuously improving our MTTI and MTTR. Besides working closely with product development teams, we also work with the Cloud Engineering team and Developer Enablement Team.
The ideal candidate will have a practitioner’s level knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD technologies, observability, and Frontend/Backend services development. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong development experience in at least one of the following development languages (Typescript/Node.js, Python, Go) and has built and deployed software systems that are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
Responsibilities:
- Spending time with our product development teams to understand how services can be deployed and operated in high-scale and high-reliability environments.
- Build and maintain solutions including 3rd party and internal tools, shared libraries, and service templates to enable developers understanding how services perform in production.
- Working closely with our Developer Enablement team to define and detect SLI (Service Level Indicator) thresholds.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of production experience
- Significant experience designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining cloud-based web services and microservices (AWS experience preferred)
- Experience with full stack software development
- Can demonstrate experience on building and delivering a scalable system in one or more of our core development languages (Typescript/Node.js, Python, Go)
- Experience with implementing instrumentation within service/application and shipping metrics, logs, and trace to tools such as Datadog, Grafana, X-Ray, Sentry, etc. by using OpenTelemetry compatible libraries.
- Experience with implementing CI/CD pipeline such as GitHub Actions and Gitlab CI
- You are a technology generalist and fast learner
- You are self-motivated and can work autonomously
- Effective verbal and written communicator
- Experience writing Infrastructure as Code in one or more languages (Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK, SAM)
- Experience with container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with AWS Serverless Stack
