As a Senior Hardware Engineer in Micron's Advanced Memory Systems group, you will work with the memory industry's leading architecture team on new concepts which will shape the future of computing systems.
This role will involve exploring and developing new architectures to enable Micron's high value, differentiated solutions. The candidate will contribute to a broad range of areas, resulting in hardware systems that demonstrate proof of concepts for the technologies being explored. The candidate will be responsible for translating hardware requirements into a micro-architecture, partnering with the software design team on programming model development, and partnering with board engineers to define proof of concept systems. This is a leadership role with responsibilities including project definition, task definition, reporting, and schedule ownership. Other responsibilities may include participation in customer presentations, writing reports documenting progress and learnings on projects, and mentoring less experienced team members.
This position is located in Allen, TX.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical leadership - planning and leading execution for a small team: defining tasks, tracking and reporting progress, as well as having hands on contributions.
  • Partnering with software development teams on programming model development, hardware and software integration, and lab debug.
  • Partnering with board team on proof-of-concept system design
  • Partnering and providing feedback to architecture and development teams to improve performance of hardware and software.
  • Bringing up designs in FPGA based prototypes
  • Debugging problems to root cause in simulation and in prototypes.


Successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Required: Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Required: 10+ years work experience in computer system development
  • Strong debug and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in technical leadership including planning and leading through execution
  • Experience partnering with other architects on definition of hardware systems
  • Experience creating and executing micro-architecture specifications
  • Experience partnering with software engineers working on device drivers
  • Experience writing and simulating Verilog/SystemVerilog; and partnering with DV engineers to verify it.
  • Proficiency in basic DV skills - ability to manipulate directed tests for Verilog turn-on and test.
  • Experience prototyping Verilog in FPGA's
  • Strong knowledge of computer architectures and systems
  • Experiences with PCIe and/or DDR4 a plus
  • Programming skills a plus
  • Working knowledge of CXL (compute express link) a plus
  • Mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
