Building upon the success of our Digital Channels, Chase is seeking a highly effective and innovative Executive Director of Web Development to join our web Development Team as one of our Engineering Directors managing the Core Platform team. This team work closely with our business partners/area product owners, web framework team, and product delivery team to build strategic solutions, patterns, and best practices that enhance the experience each of our banking customers have.
As Technology Director in web development, you will work with IT leadership to understand business strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. You will participate in design reviews, architectural assessments and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and providing best practices, incorporate valuable open source and continue modernize our engineer practice and shape how we build software. You will also direct all teams to adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, and testing. Additionally, your team will need to incorporate CCB Architectural Standards into application design specifications

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the UI Architecture, Performance, and respective APIs that drive traffic to some of the most critical and visited secure Chase.com properties
  • Responsible for managing the common application container for Chase Personal and Business online
  • Responsible for continually monitoring and improving performance
  • Deliver solutions leveraging modern technologies such as web framework development that uses modern design patterns
  • Deliver modern CI/CD pipelines with automated tollgates to ensure quality and performance
  • Define and drive adoption of Guideline and Standards to enable distributed development at scale
  • Maintain engineer's end to end onboarding experience which facilitates all scrum teams to enable building features in consistent ways
  • Partner with framework teams on adoption
  • Responsible on defining and owning common Utilities
  • Drive down legacy technology platform footprint - Responsible for migrating to micro services and micro front-end architecture
  • Strong risk management mindset relative to managing risk and delivering technical tasks related to the solution e.g. breaks, defects, patches & upgrades
  • Strong talent assessment and talent management background
  • Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and technology team members
  • Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team and culture within the organization
  • Build Metrics and monitor team following best practices


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (ideally, a Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field of study
  • 10+ years of experience on technical Delivery teams and enterprise products.
  • 10+ years of managing web technical Delivery teams and enterprise products.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience as a Web Software Developer, as an IT Consultant, or in a related occupation
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes with proficiency in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Web technologies and Java as well as experience in developing custom UI components
  • Knowledge and experience using popular Dev ops tooling
  • Knowledge and experience in BDD and modern testing frameworks that support it, like cucumber, Selenium, Groovy, Java, etc.
  • Understanding of source control and experience working with modern tools that support it, such as Git
  • Expertise in web framework and application design and architecture disciplines
  • An extensive working experience and advanced knowledge in server-side web and mocking technologies for testing
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
