About the Role:

As Principal Engineer, you will be on the frontline of developing and progressing Capsule's enterprise architecture. You will design resilient, scalable and flexible software. You will be working across engineering teams, providing architectural leadership, and assisting teams to grow their technical competencies. You will be collaborating with technical and non-technical leadership to enable goals around product delivery and engineering excellence.  You will be helping us build the Capsule of today and designing the Capsule of tomorrow.

  • Evaluate modern software design patterns, practices, and tools and influence teams to incorporate selected approaches
  • Own architectural design of resilient, scalable and maintainable software
  • Drive engineering excellence best practices
  • Provide thought leadership in all aspects of software design and delivery
  • Server as a mentor for engineering talent 
  • Provide technical guidance for individual teams to design and build new services and applications 
  • Work across all product areas and platforms 
  • Be a hands on contributor for critical and strategic engineering and product initiatives

Requirements:

  • 10 years of Software Development experience and at least 3 years in the role of an architect
  • Architecture experience at a principal level
  • Have led efforts in designing and re-architecting software at an enterprise level
  • Experience working with event driven micro services and distributed architectures
  • Hands on experience working with coding languages such as Kotlin and Python
  • Knowledge of development frameworks like Spring Boot
