Job Description:
The Principal Engineer will lead the designs for the major programs within Channel Payments like IPDL, CashPro Connect Payments Modernization, Global Payments Transformation, the journey towards Real Time Payments across the globe and emerging Payment transformations. These large programs will shape the Payments domain within the next few years. Client needs with new and emerging Payment types, regulatory requirements and transaction volume growth in Payments is resulting in the need for a strong design engineer to steer the teams towards successful implementations of the business requirements.
The Principal Engineer leads the designs and target state architectures for the Channel Payments applications within the Channels, Servicing & Onboarding Technology (CSOT) organization. This role will work closely with Business, Architecture and Technology partners across all regions to deliver solutions for projects within the Payments domain. The individual will be responsible for advocating a strong design culture within the Channel Payments teams and train. Sets a design oriented discipline and execution within the organization. Plays an active part in the development and review of Enterprise Architecture blueprints for Payments, and leverages the enterprise tools and processes to ensure high quality delivery of the payments projects. Leads the design for major projects like India Payments Data Localization, CashPro Connect Payments Modernization, Global Payments Transformation from a Channel perspective. Works very closely with the rest of the CSOT organization to promote design principles and deliver a common platform. Individual will manage several projects simultaneously as we improve the Channel Payments domain to support growing client transaction volumes and the support for evolving/emerging payment types. This individual will play a key role in the development of the target state Channel Payments domain.

The Digital Channels Technology organization, part of the larger Global Banking Technology division, oversees the development and execution of comprehensive strategies supporting all Digital services accessible via CashPro's channels (online, mobile, File, and API connectivity). Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in solution design and delivery process - Understands the roles and responsibilities of other teams who participate in the delivery process
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills; proven experience in communicating to senior leadership.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders, while managing compressed timelines
  • Ability to identify risks and dependencies and the impact on the business and technology - what controls can be used
  • Strong knowledge of Payments products and services, business flows and understanding
  • Digital Channels technology background strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrates increasing levels of accountability and ownership
  • The strongest candidates will have a love for problem solving, great partnership and communication skills, deep operational subject matter expertise, and the ability to envision, communicate and execute strategic planning and remediation of issues.
  • This role will have senior level leadership exposure opportunities across GTS Tech, allowing the right person to expand his/her network and expertise.


Desired Skills:

  • Strong background in Payments
  • Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs, procedures and regional/regulatory requirements Ability to develop concise and effective presentations Demonstrated leadership of design/architectural improvements


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or related field preferred.

Pay and benefits information
Jersey City pay range:
$145,000 - $218,300 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
