OUR TEAM
We are the department that creates user experiences and tools to improve the lives of Pets. Our teams consist of engineers focusing on the full technology stack. Creating the best possible products using data-driven decision making, to essentially be a window into the Kinship ecosystem, working lockstep with our other departments including Product, Data & Analytics, Growth, Marketing, and HW.
HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO
As a key technologist of the Consumer Engineering team, you will help architect and build various shared engineering functions including direct contribution to building:
- Integrations of both internal and external platforms
- API Management Platform
- Micro services that power the experience for various backend capabilities of our pet parenting platform
- Consumer data and privacy, domestic and intl, including GDPR and CCPA
- Scale and stability to existing platforms

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- 15+ years of experience in software development
- Proven experience in building scalable platforms
- Good understanding of Customer Data Platform
- Good understanding of modern cloud friendly devops tools, terraform, Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with relational as well as noSQL database technologies at scale
- Deep understanding of end-to-end deployment architecture including experience with CDNs, networking, distributed systems that yields high availability, active-active topologies
- Experience with distributed caching technologies
- Comfortable with open source technologies and ability to configure/tweak them for scale
- Experience in building API platforms
- Experience in integrations domain using modern technologies building low-latency, high throughput platforms with stream processing/eventing
- Hands on experience building high scale micro-services
- Hands on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or comparable public cloud
- Solid, hands-on proficiency with backend technologies with command over languages such as javascript and Ruby
- Deep understanding of architectural tradeoffs optimized for scale and throughput
