The Authentication and Authorization Platform team develops and maintains functionality for authentication and authorization services at Vimeo. We help develop the core of a stack that enables users to share access to resources in dynamic ways and collaborate with their teams. We partner with other engineering teams to make Vimeo even better for teams of all sizes.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain authentication flows that combine ease-of-use and security
• Develop authorization services that enable users to collaborate on Vimeo without friction, while ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Partner with engineering teams across the company to enable and support features reliant on authentication and authorization code
• Identify opportunities to improve our architecture and tooling across multiple levels of the stack
• Define and iterate on our technical roadmap to enable rapid iteration and long term stability
• Mentor and support fellow software engineers

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

• 5+ years of technical experience working on consumer-facing products
• Experience in full-stack web development, from building and maintaining APIs, modeling data and optimizing database transactions
• Proficiency with at least one general purpose language like Go, Java, Python, PHP or C++
• Experience building and maintaining user authentication and authorization flows, identity services, permissions services
• Experience with OAuth, SAML, or other authentication/authorization standards
• Experience provisioning cloud services like AWS or Google Cloud (preferred)
• Experience working on a large-scale system; making the platform faster, extensibile, scalable, and fault-tolerant
• Capable of writing tests for complex systems to ensure continued and measurable stability
• Ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully and effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
