WHAT YOU WILL DO

People don’t solely rely on physical credit/debit cards anymore. They want next generation Digital Payment options. Digital Payment covers Secure Digital Checkout experiences (websites, apps, etc.) or Cloud Wallets (e.g. Amazon, Paypal). Why not join a team that is at the core of shaping the future of Payments? In this position, you will be a leader in our Digital Payments technology domain. Your talents will allow you to contribute, if not shape, our Business and Technology outcomes. We want you to help create and break-down product/platform efforts into successful execution-ready plans from an SRE perspective. We need your talents to help ensure our outcomes are aligning to the needs of our Customers and Partners. Our role ensuring apps, infrastructure are designed to be robust, reliable and resilient prior to production. All cutting edge work leveraging the latest technologies in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead in the identification of process and infrastructure gaps, design and implementation of process improvements to increase operational reliability

  • Identify and apply Functional and Non-Functional Improvements: Acts as the Overall Operations representative in Value Stream planning and prioritizes sessions to ensure that Operational needs of assigned applications/platforms are addressed as needed. Holds quarterly Operational Performance Reviews with Value Stream management.

  • Create and review technical requirements and translate into platform enablers in features/user stories

  • Increase operational efficiency and promote stability through automation from a domain perspective

  • Design and drive monitoring, alerting, ticket reporting strategies in order to measure SLA, SLO, MTTI, MTTR. etc and align with management expectations to reduce/minimize prod downtime.

  • Develop Dashboards for alerting and monitoring to ensure application systems service reliability and availability

  • Write quality code using SOLID principles in Test Driven Development with languages such as Java, Ruby, Go, Python, and Bash.

  • Operational Performance & Stability: Works with other members of their assigned Value Stream to ensure that the in-scope applications/platforms are meeting performance and stability requirements. This includes managing Major Incidents to Mitigation/Resolution.

  • Problem Management: Performs Post-Incident Reviews of all Major Incidents and determining Action Items required to avoid similar issues/minimize downtime for future Incidents.

  • Monitors and Metrics: Works with Application Development to ensure that assigned applications/platforms have the appropriate monitoring and metrics in place to appropriately measure performance and stability.

  • Release Planning & Coordination: Works with other members of their assigned Value Stream to ensure that the Production releases for their in scope applications/platforms are properly planned and coordinated. This includes Holds Change/Release implementation reviews to ensure thorough and appropriate implementation plans.

  • Provides review and sign-off/approval of change tickets for the assigned Value Stream. Represents the Value Stream in Change Advisory Board Meetings. Participates in Program Increment Planning Sessions as a liaison for Operations and Infrastructure support. Provides information regarding upcoming critical changes to the Value Stream.

  • Operational Readiness:

  • Ensures that applications/platforms in the Value Stream are operationally ready for Production. This includes Annual Review of all SOPs/Knowledge Articles. Monitors review for any new Feature launch or other significant change that may impact monitoring.

  • Develop/ change SOP/Knowledge Article review for any new Feature launch or other significant change that may impact support documentation.

  • Training of Command Center and Application 1st level Support on new SOPs, Knowledge Articles, and any other support-related needs.

  • Performs Monthly Capacity Analysis of applications/platforms within the Value Stream. Creates and Maintains Operationally focused ELK Dashboards for the Value Stream

  • Understand, learn, partner with Infrastructure teams to pioneer new technologies related to SRE functionality for alerting, monitoring, and reporting

    Qualifications You’ll Need

    The Basics

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

    • Demonstrable Principal years of experience in SRE/Application Development/Leadership, or related field 

    Bonus Points If You Have:

    • Relevant hands-on software development experience in our Tech Stack

    • Passion for learning

    • Experience with SRE design to address reliability and resiliency

    • Studied architectural patterns at scale, including thoughtfully-designed APIs, repeatable delivery pipelines, and efficient computer engineering principles

    • Proficient across the technical stack

    • Deep knowledge and understanding of emerging trends in the SRE field

    • AppD, Kibana, AWS, OCP, Calico, Instana, Helm, Postgres, Kafka, HashiCorp Vault, Kubernetes, Grafana, CLS

    • Data/Cache Technologies: Elasticsearch, Gemfire, Oracle, Maria

    • CI with Jenkins or similar; Git/GitHub; Gradle, Nexus, Chef, Ansible

    • Cloud/PaaS Architectures (Cloud Foundry/VM/AWS/OCP)

    • RabbitMQ, Cucumber

    • Angular, Gulp, Node, JavaScript, Selenium, Protractor, WireMock

    • Java / J2EE, Spring (Core, Spring Integration, Spring Boot)
