Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with senior leaders and/or external vendors on complex technology solution issues that may impact multiple integrated business organizations and/or applications
  • Focus on the overall information/data models to help set/establish the data strategy and ensure alignment across the technology landscape
  • Focus on application and data platform architecture creating a multi-year plan.
  • Ensure the alignment of technology solutions that enable, enhance, or create business capabilities with the overall WellMed technology strategy
  • Architect - and then work with Product Engineering Teams to design and deliver solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and advance the architecture toward Technical Strategy via interim states
  • Identify and leverage reusable patterns
  • Collaborate with the business and engineering stakeholders by clearly identifying scope, application impacts & sizing
  • Work with the delivery teams to identify and minimize technical debt - in the immediate term and as part of the Technical Strategy
  • Provide stewardship and guidance to the various technology delivery organizations on behalf of the business stakeholders
  • Collaborate across other areas of the WellMed architecture organization
  • Drive adaptive change and process improvement within the technology development and business organizations
  • Apply enterprise and data integration patterns using APIs, micro-services, event-driven and data-driven approaches
  • Deliver documented diagram flows of current state and future state architectural data, for purposes of solutioning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of experience in implementing and integrating technology solutions. Arc of experience should cross disciplines of data engineering, cloud solutions, system integration, solution design, development/configuration, and deployment
  • 10+ years of experience in technical roles at an architect or senior engineer level
  • 5+ years of experience working with data consumption patterns
  • 5+ years of supporting services that support best-in-class experiences for consumers and other constituents - with a particular focus on non-functional requirements
  • Professional experience facilitating and leading solution design, architecture & delivery planning activities across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with business problems and solution options with high degree of complexity that connects multiple domains and technologies
  • Experience with large-scale (multi-domain, multi-application) IT system integration and architecture solutions
  • Experience leading capability grooming sessions with a variety of business and technology stakeholders
  • Experience with multiple development frameworks and methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Agile, SAFe, LeSS)
  • Working knowledge of industry standard patterns, practices and technologies including streaming and containerization
  • Working knowledge of Security, Privacy, and PHI, PII, or comparable concerns
  • High proficiency in developing visual representations of architectural solutions using a standard notation (solutions context, solutions architecture, applications architecture, sequence diagrams, experience orchestrations, etc.)
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the relationship of data architectures as they relate to integrated systems solutions
  • Proven ability to understand technological infrastructure and how it relates to solutions and integrations
  • Proven ability to understand the big picture before getting into details


Preferred Qualifications:

  • TOGAF, Archimate or other architecture certifications
  • SAFe Agilist and/or LeSS certification
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector
  • Experience with application integration: Java, SOA, HL7, Web Services, RESTful, Message Queue solutions using SOAP, JSON, XML, .NET stack (ASP.NET, MVC, REST, API, SQL, .NET CORE)
  • Experience leading architect efforts or managing a team of architects
  • Knowledge of the health care industry
  • Solid mental agility and critical thinking/analytical skills, and be adaptable to an ever-changing environment
  • Solid presentation skills with ability to create both high level diagrams for executives, as well as solution documentation for analysts, developers, and QA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, is organized, has good time management skills, is focused, and has strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, is a team player, be proactive, a self-starter and is highly motivated
