GHD is seeking a Power Engineer with a desire to work on projects in the fields of Future Energy, utility, and industrial power systems. Project assignments will be focused in the Mid-Continent region with additional opportunities to work on projects throughout North America, Australia and elsewhere around the globe. This position can be based from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX - Denver, CO - Kansas City, MO - Houston, TX - Salt Lake City, UT - Baton Rouge, LA or Mobile, AL.
Specific responsibilities will include:

• Working with project teams within the Power group to achieve project objectives; which includes working interactively with junior engineers & designers as well as team members in other subject areas
• Develop designs, specifications and calculations for electrical power systems, which may include: One-line and three-line diagrams, wiring schematics area classifications, grounding plans, power plans, cable tray, equipment data sheets, cable tray fill calculations, lighting calculations, and voltage drop calculations
• Perform power system studies for industrial and/or utility clients
• Responsible for producing high-quality engineering results; identifies & reports quality concerns; may be called upon to investigate quality non-conformances
• May be tasked with leading the electrical design team on small to mid-size projects
• May perform some projects in the role of an owner's engineer
• Develops hourly estimates of the Electrical Engineering & Design portion of proposals
• Trains and mentors' junior teammates
• Works with the marketing team to create and give technical presentations to existing or potential clients
• Develops the business by maintaining client relationships and increases client loyalty through excellent customer service and delivery

For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited school
• 4+ years' experience working with power systems
• A desire to grow your skills and knowledge of power systems both domestically and internationally
• Professional Engineer license or ability to acquire within 2 years
• Knowledge of electrical codes & standards,
• Experience with power engineering and/or design software
• Knowledge of electrical equipment rated 480 Volts and above
• Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, logic diagrams and control schematics
