Become the catalyst who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes strategic relationships with our customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Platform Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in the Northeast United States, preferably near Boston, MA, New Jersey, or Washington, D.C. In this role, you will help customers understand how Red Hat's solutions will give them a competitive advantage and help them achieve their business objectives. You'll need to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, deep technical understanding of Linux and related technologies, and desire for solving IT challenges faced at large scale and broad scope. As a Platform Specialist Solutions Architect, you'll also need to have excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a crucial member of the technical team engaging with Red Hat's customers. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Discover and analyze customer business and technical problems and connect the appropriate Red Hat's solutions that will align with their needs
  • Gain, maintain, and apply your deep product knowledge of Red Hat's platform technologies, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Satellite Server, Red Hat Insights, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and other related technologies, to provide technical leadership to the sales team and the customers through sales presentations, demonstrations of our offerings, workshops, and proofs of concept
  • Gain, maintain, and apply deep knowledge of advanced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) topics like cloud deployments, clustering, performance tuning, containerization, edge, automation at large scale, security, and much more, to help customers address their challenges
  • Achieve and maintain the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and similar certifications; if you're not already certified, it will be part of your onboarding
  • Meet revenue goals and deployment and service objectives while sustaining good relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Collaborate broadly with our Engineering, Support, Business, Professional Services, and Sales teams and partners to ensure excellent customer experience with our offerings and solutions
  • Demonstrate expertise by delivering whitepapers, demos, and presentations to customers and to the public at conferences; share knowledge with your team members to allow them to learn from your work


What you will bring

  • Desire for problem-solving, learning, teaching, and collaboration
  • Passion for developing and maintaining interpersonal skills and experience presenting and speaking in front of an audience
  • Experience with Linux and open source; experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and open source communities related to Red Hat's offerings is a plus
  • Experience with advanced platform topics like containers, cloud, edge, virtualization, and system automation; experience with Red Hat's technologies including Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Podman, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Satellite, etc., is a plus
  • Experience with other common enterprise software and services across public cloud and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers, virtualization offerings, large IT stacks like enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, databases, etc.
  • Open mind to help customers and Red Hat both partner to build innovative solutions to improve existing offerings and invent new solutions for the customers; this will include a very fast-paced environment, frequent interaction with other team members and customers, and constantly learning to gain industry insight
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a focus on continuous development of technical and soft skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, or equivalent technical fields of study, or equivalent professional experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
