About the job
The Red Hat IT team is looking for a Platform Architect to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the technology strategy for service management. You'll need to have the highest level of technical expertise to manage the overall technical structure and global configuration of Service Management tools, based on the business strategy and needs. You will need to partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure that the Service Management strategy and delivery align with the Red Hat's overall objectives. You'll collaborate with the technical teams and product managers supporting ServiceNow and other Service Management applications to provide solution options and identify any issues leading to potential downstream impacts. You will also be responsible for ensuring platform health and agility to support current and future needs.
What you will do

  • Work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders in defining future-state technology architectures and roadmap that take into account the future business goals and competing priorities
  • Work with stakeholders to understand potential opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Determine and produce artifacts that will guide technical teams to guide to meaningful business outcomes
  • Provide oversight for technical work to ensure platform standards are followed
  • Work with vendors to understand their technology and feature roadmap and help business and IT team to plan accordingly
  • Monitor and maintain platform health using key performance indicators (KPIs) for performance, data quality, technical debt, and agility
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of current state architecture, data flows, and integrations for Service Management applications
  • Provide support on technical Tier 4 for unresolved inquiries within the purview of the role
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory and overall data compliance and adherence to business process controls


What you will bring

  • 2+ years of experience as an application or platform architect, with responsibility for defining target state architecture for solutions on ServiceNow
  • Solid working knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT asset management (ITAM), including various ServiceNow components like Service Desk, Change Management, Incident Management, Asset Management, Problem Management, CMDB, Knowledge Management, ServiceNow Scripting, and Service Request Management, Workflow, and Automation Management
  • Experience defining and maintaining technology roadmaps
  • Expertise in applications development like integration techniques and patterns, data modeling and patterns, and security patterns
  • Effective interpersonal skills to influence and socialize the solution designs
  • Thorough understanding of the Service Management domain
  • Ability to define platform development and configuration standards
  • Experience with the principles of agile development methodologies


Experience with the following will be considered a plus:

  • Risk management

  • Hardware asset management
  • Vendor risk management
  • App engine
