Position Summary :

We are looking for a meticulous Performance Test Engineer to contribute to the creation of enterprise software in Retail industry. The Engineer's responsibilities include both software testing and performance tuning activities and focuses on the testability, robustness, and performance of the software. As such, a Performance Test Engineer is a test professional with advanced skills who can create performance test and DB scripts to assist with fine tuning the performance of a software. You should have strong communication and organizational skills and have a passion for designing, development, and testing the software.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the entire system end to end and involve in every step of software development process like designing, development, and testing
  • Define clear solution performance test strategies for complex end-to-end systems that comprise the NCR solutions hosted on multiple platforms
  • Define, develop, and own the best in class enterprise testing toolset and practices which supports testing Windows, Web and API based Cloud applications
  • Understand the non-functional requirements and build an environment where performance tests can be executed
  • Research and adopt the latest techniques in performance testing arena
  • Create test reports of various performance tests run and propose performance improvements in the solution
  • Continue to expand testing automation within NCR's Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) environments
  • Collaborate with product development engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, and QA engineers
  • Diagnose, isolate, and implement remedies for system failures caused by errors in software.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for engineering and testing practices
  • Continuously evaluate new tools and processes to maintain NCR's leading position in the solution testing space
  • Collaborate with solution engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, network engineers and QA engineers.
  • Work within the SAFe methodology to implement and / or refine solution integration and test best practices



Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 to 6 years of experience / knowledge in testing in an enterprise environment with any performance testing certification is highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in architecting solution for complex enterprise applications
  • Expert and hands-on experience in using JMeter, PerfMon. LoadRunner is a plus
  • Experienced in performance testing APIs, Windows, and Web applications
  • String expertise in using various Protocols
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in developing performance scripts using Java or C
  • Hands-on experience in SQL and database testing
  • Hands-on experience on performance testing tools like Fiddler, Wireshark, and DynaTrace is an added advantage
  • A real problem solver who can work with software engineers, architects and product management to understand the performance test expectations at the solution level
  • Strong personal accountability and ownership required
