The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student-Software Engineering-Cybersecurity, you will work with John Deere's Security by Design team to drive excellence in our tools and technology. Our team's mission is to improve our organization's security posture by enabling other software teams to practice security while they develop software. We do that by:
- Developing applications, tools, and frameworks that make doing security easy
- Providing security knowledge and skills training
- Cultivating a security mindset in our organization's culture
- Getting people excited about security
- Coaching teams to grow their security capability

What You Will Do
- Be a technical member of an agile software team and contribute to feature delivery
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate security software solutions
- Write clean and well-tested code
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers to improve security of software
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a Technology related discipline; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
- Graduation date of May 2023 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 10+ hours/week during the academic year
- Available to work 40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Available to work on and complete assignments remotely year-round
- Strong coding skills in at least one programming language
