Operations Test Engineer

The Role:
Overhaul is looking for an Operations Test Engineer who will be responsible for testing the latest technology that will support Overhaul operations and increase customer support level. This role will validate real-world operational solutions before introduced to our customer base, preemptively identifying any issue or concerns with new technologies and use case.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Creation and completion of requirement and specification documents as well as architecture and design documentation of expected operational performance of Overhaul’s IOT solutions
- Create test cases based on operational requirement documents and flow charts to ensure that the IOT systems are validated.
- Document the execution of test cases and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix including impacts to user experience as well as discovering edge cases and potential error scenarios.
- Analyze IOT component, vehicle, telecommunications network, and back-end network logs to confirm system performance using proprietary systems or common network/telecom or vendor tools
- Analyze and validate sensor specification and real-world usability of tracking technologies
- Execute and lead troubleshooting by identifying the root cause of an issue, identify countermeasures and give suggestions for potential improvements
- Drive continuous improvement through Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Support our clients methodically through data analysis, applying innovative tools and deriving fact-based recommendations
- Together with the product team, educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefits.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Telematics, Computer Science, Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in IOT testing or similar testing expertise as the above summary
- Experience working with 12-volt systems and rechargeable IOT devices
- Experience conducting feature, system, wireless and component testing
- Understanding of Cellular Communications and RF technology (GSM, CDMA, LTE, Sigfox, LoraWan, BLE, Zigbee, RF beacons, etc.)
- Serial terminal experience (example: Tera Term, Serial, Z term, Real term)
- Familiarity with GIS or mapping software
- Script execution via postman
- Macro creation experience
