As a Operations Research Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for developing, directing, and applying advanced mathematical models and techniques that improve and enhance the ability to execute within operations across the company. Your goal is to ensure the proper efficiency, mix and flexibility requirements are in place to ensure Micron's business success. These duties include identifying and leading programs that support strategic and tactical planning and execution activities. You will also be responsible for working with manufacturing site and support team leadership, Supply Chain leadership, and all team members across Global Operations to attain operational excellence in support of Micron's mission and values.
This will be your opportunity to apply some of the most advanced OR techniques to a large enterprise and measure direct value returned to the company.
You will be expected to be the expert in your field and help apply your knowledge and modeling capability to produces scale-able systems and processes that leverage industry best practices in the pursuit of operational excellence. You will also be in the forefront of applying frontier techniques and toolsets to enable Micron to be the world leader in operational excellence
Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding and experience in
  • Linear regressions and probability theory
  • Mixed Integer Linear Programming
  • Stochastic Modeling and Simulation
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Work with development teams to deliver repeatable/scale-able solutions
  • Comprehend and understand implications to company financials
  • Mastering at least one programming languages (Matlab, Python, or C++)
  • Passion for applied modeling and operations research


Strongly Preferred:

  • Knowledge and exposure to supply chain optimization concepts and strategies
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Experience in Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry


Education:
Degree/Major: Ph.D in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field required
