Job Description:
As a Design System team, we explore and solve problems at the intersection of design and development by supporting platforms, UI development, accessibility, browser performance, and mobile web. As a teammate, you will provide shared UI and UX assets in the open source design system which is used across the Pluralsight ecosystem. Through the value of shared UI/UX, you will increase the usability of our products for our end-users. Our projects support many of the product development teams at Pluralsight, improving work efficiency and end-product quality.

What you'll own:
Pluralsight Design System

  • An existing range of core design values and a component library. Lead expansion, maintenance and evolution of the implementation
  • Collaborative user research design process.
  • User support through documentation and hands-on assistance
  • Create and articulate a compelling technical vision of the Design System for 3-5 years out, using industry trends and aligning with company strategy
  • Understand, practice, and advocate for Engineering@Pluralsight principles and practices
  • Inspire and support fellow engineers. Foster the Engineering community at Pluralsight; through leadership, upskill everyone around you.


Current Efforts

  • Accessibility improvements (targeting WCAG AA 2.1)
  • Component styling and API flexibility
  • Adjustments to the release strategy
  • Evolving multi-product strategy
  • Simplifying implementation and maintenance with tokens


Experience you'll need:

  • Frontend focus - you have 5+ recent years of frontend web conquests and a great portfolio; are interested in deepening that expertise through this role
  • Framework familiarity - you have 2+ years experience with React or a similar UI component framework; are a deft user; ability to debug and tune
  • Design sensibility - you speak the language of designers; are an advocate for the user
  • Systems thinker - you consider broad architectural implications in solutions; have shipped and supported general library code for a broad user base. You have a foundational understanding and experience with topics related to platform scale, security, availability, deployment and operations
