Description
The OEM Solutions team is part of the Caterpillar's Integrated Components & Solutions Division (ICS). OEM solutions is a growth-oriented team within ICS that provides value in growth markets by leveraging existing Caterpillar components, systems, and partial machines into niche applications. This provides value to our OEM customers by leveraging the validated Caterpillar products, supply chain, and dealer network. To contribute to the success of ICS team, you will work with the OEM Solutions Application Engineering Team to develop Powerpack solutions for our key customer.
This job will be a mid level leadership role in our software and controls team with responsibility for development of new Powerpack applications. This team leader will have responsibility to collect requirements from OEMs and customer and develop the system specifications and I/O requirements. The team leader will then lead Caterpillar and external developers and test engineers to meet the project development timelines. The team leader will then follow the application to production and provide the necessary support post production to meet the customers needs. This candidate needs to have a strong technical background to quickly learn the OEM Solutions components & systems and have strong communications and organizational skills to develop our technical support infostructure and become our product support SME for each application. This individual must show leadership potential, be a self starter, and have the desire to grow within OEM Solutions.
Job Duties
This position works with other OEM software team members to drive effective software solutions for CAT OEM powerpacks.
Develop software architecture to implement software solutions and write software code.
Perform software design, programming, and testing utilizing industry best practices and processes for software development.
Ensure software meets quality, reliability, and performance targets set by team leader.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.
3 - 5 years of software development experience
Experience architecting, programming, and testing Caterpillar software
Experience in C++ Software programming
Experience in Matlab/Simulink development
Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
Strong communication skills
Top Candidates will also have
Ability to use software development and troubleshooting tools
Mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot software & electrical systems
Caterpillar transmission development or test experience
Caterpillar machine or subsystem software development experience
Additional Information
The location for this position is East Peoria, IL
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
This position will require less than 10% travel
