As an SSD (Solid State Drive) Qualification and Reliability Engineer at Micron, you are responsible for understanding all aspects of non-volatile memory system reliability, including but not limited to field reliability, qualification, statistical analysis and FMEA. You will be responsible for driving change in how Micron evaluates system reliability and strive to evolve our process to be best in the industry and value added. You are responsible for developing test methodology for SSD systems, reliability, and performance, and qualification support for data center SSD. This will involve analysis of both internal and external customer requirements, development of qualification plans to verify the product will meet those requirements, the implementation of new test software or testing methodologies and tools to facilitate the qualification, test execution, as well as some electrical and mechanical failure analysis to identify the root cause of qualification failures and the appropriate corrective action.
Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Develop Product Reliability Methodology as subject Matter Expert for new and existing systems.
  • Review and participate in system product architecture process.
  • Comprehend new system processes/technologies for product reliability issues
  • Ensure system product architecture and design aligns with required quality and reliability specifications.
  • Analyze system and component reliability data for product feasibility and risk assessments
  • Comprehend failures and failure rate within the scope of the qualification, integration, and field environments
  • Coordinate with research and development teams.


Preferred Skills:

  • Coding skills (python/perl/matlab) to electrically characterize and model cell properties
  • Experience debugging issues on electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages oriented to statistical analysis (JMP, MATLAB, R)
  • Knowledge of JEDEC standards for NAND component and system qualification requirements
  • Familiarity with solid state drive (SSD) architecture and performance and reliability requirements


Degree Required

  • PHD or MS+2yrs in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering
