Our team is looking for an IT Operations Engineer with a strong understanding of Enterprise Infrastructure and Application Performance monitoring. This position interacts with Team Members all across UWM to innovate new monitoring solutions and improve current tooling. The IT Operations Engineer works and collaborates with teams from across IT, including: AppDev, Server, Data Services, Network/Unified Communications, & Business Architecture. The IT Operations Engineer promotes the concept of Observability, and provides Application, Infrastructure, & Systems Monitoring to all clients across UWM.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Evaluate the configurations of our monitoring platforms and health with a focus on Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Enterprise Infrastructure Monitoring, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tooling
  • Innovate monitoring solutions for Infrastructure & Application Health, focus on process creation, current process enhancement, and proactively communicate with clients to determine impact
  • Work cross functionally with other teams in IT and throughout the business to assist with Projects and Monitoring Request, from Project Conception through Final Delivery and Maintenance
  • Assist IT Teams with customer Application/Device testing, Regression, and Service Troubleshooting



WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, or optimizing APM Tooling (AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience working in a NOC/IT Ops Center using Enterprise Infrastructure monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Pingdom, Nagios, ManageEngine, ThousandEyes, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience working in ITOps
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM applications (Splunk, ArcSight, LogRhythm, etc)
  • Experience writing PowerShell, SQL, or Python
  • On-site, full-time attendance; Support deployments, updates to Software and tooling after hours when necessary


Preferred:

  • Experience with scripting or automation technologies (SQL, VBScript, Skybot)
  • Experience with Netflow monitoring tools (eg. Scrutinizer, NetFlow Analyzer)
  • Experience with SIEM products (eg. LogRhythm, Splunk)
  • Experience conceptualizing and building out Monitoring solutions
  • Computer-related degree or APM/SIEM based Certifications equivalent
