Location: REMOTE
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer

• Location: 100% Remote (MUST be in one of the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia.
• Duration: Permanent/Full-Time

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Work closely with 3 teams- E-commerce, networking and security team (this team)
• Mature firewalls, work on bot mitigation. Akamai is what they leverage (this is a cloud delivery platform)
• Work with networking on firewall rules/intrusion
• Continuously suspect the firewalls, not manually
• Operations:
• Understand the current threat landscape and apply it to the environment using the resources we have or making recommendations to mature the program
• Strong understanding of the Top 20 controls and how to implement them
• Planning:
• Contribute to roadmap planning efforts and ad hoc adjustments to identify new efforts to pursue

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5-8 years with Network background Leadership qualities, propose new ideas.
• Drive maturity. "we have done this, and it worked very well"
• Be okay with change, because they are moving a lot of things around. Things change every year
• Cisco, fire power, 5five. Palo alto (replacing system with this)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Experience with multiple technologies (Web Application Firewall, Bot Mitigation, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.)
