Bloomberg Industry Group has an opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Network Security Engineer. This role reports to our Network Engineering Manager and will be expected to contribute heavily to the technical design, implementation and operation of Bloomberg Industry Group's network security infrastructure.
You will be working as part of a technologically diverse team whose mission is to provide architecture, design, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support for public and private cloud implementations, including network. compute, storage and related systems and services.
Proven expertise, experience and skills in the following network technologies will be key to your success in this role:• Network design, deployment and operations • IP Network routing and switching • Palo Alto NextGen Firewall • Cisco Routers and Switches • F5 LTM and DNS • Public/Private Cloud Network solutions

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops tools and processes to enable automated deployment and monitoring of public and private cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Leads and executes project activities for teams of engineers for assigned projects.
  • Provides leading engineering role in supporting architectural design and implementation.
  • Automates images, systems/network configuration and orchestration using tool such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible etc.
  • Coordinates and maintains environment changes to applications, workflows, and systems.
  • Ensures that the availability of the supported environments meet or exceed requirements and service level agreements.
  • Works closely with business units, operations, development and security teams to meet organizational requirements.
  • Works with the various teams to troubleshoot production issues and to tune production systems, services and applications.
  • Evaluates new and existing software, systems, technologies and processes to optimize workflows.
  • May direct day-to-day activities and serve as a mentor for engineers, as needed.
  • Prepares status reports on systems/projects; enforce application, system and service configuration and documentation standards to ensure that all de sign and integration activities and related efforts adhere to audit, compliance and security control requirements.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Produces and maintains necessary documentation to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Significant knowledge and hands on experience of network protocols, DNS resolution and other network-related skills.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems.



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a technical lead role for small or medium sized teams is a plus.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of operations, workflows, systems, and applications in assigned areas of responsibility; maintains advanced knowledge of developments and techniques in the field of cloud engineering and systems integration technology.
  • 4 years of information technology experience, including at least 3 years of analysis, systems design, engineering, or architecture in one or more of the following technologies:
    o Cloud Technologies
    o Network design, deployment, and operations
    o IP Network routing and switching
    o Palo Alto NextGen Firewall
    o Cisco Routers and Switches
    o Load balancing with F5 LTM/GTM and DNS
    o Public/Private Cloud Network solutions
    o Software Development
    o Infrastructure/Configuration as code
    o Data Storage Systems
    o Data Protection and Disaster Recovery
    o Operating Systems
    o Directory Services
    o Messaging
    o Application Delivery
    o Data Center Virtualization/Automation
    o Data Center Operations
