IT Enterprise Architect for Network
Job Description

An Architect for Cloud and Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) is contributor to transforming IT to meet the Micron's demanding business needs. Within this role, you will be responsible for defining the strategy for new and innovative capabilities that drive Network capabilities through a broad range of technologies such as Wide and Local Area Networks, Wireless, Mobile and Cloud through software driven solutions that drive Micron's business productivity.
As an Enterprise Architect you would be tasked with maintaining strategic roadmaps, helping prioritize capabilities, build business cases, and mange reference architectures for a wide range of capabilities and technologies within Cloud and I&O. As a technology leader you will lead and document data driven decisions on technology product choices. You are expected to participate in cross-functional teams that anticipate future capabilities, stay abreast of industry trends and business needs, and actively participate in organizations to build depth and promote Micron.
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other Cloud and I&O Architects and Engineers in delivering and managing architecture artifacts (reference architectures, roadmaps, blueprints, etc.).
  • Collaborate with customers on requests for architecture (Business areas, other IT towers, IT leadership and Product Owners).
  • Collaborate with mangers and business leaders to document and prioritize needed capabilities, get approval for artifacts, and share status of efforts.
  • Direct POC and evaluations for technologies.
  • Accountable for architecture artifact accuracy (reference architectures, roadmaps, etc.) through collaboration with customers of said artifacts and defining and managing metrics for the same.
  • Responsible for documenting enterprise-wide technical debt retirements as well as new technology innovations.
  • Create as-is and to-be architecture artifacts that capture current major business, application, infrastructure, and data architectures issues and future solutions
  • Participate in enterprise level projects and agile teams to set architecture direction and maintain alignment
  • Research and develop future roadmaps, strategies, and technical visions
  • Audit the network systems for compliance to design and standard specifications


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Five or more years in a Senior Engineering Role (Architecture preferred)
  • Detailed experience with Networking Concepts including both Access (wired and wireless) and Data Center networking concepts. Cloud and Wide Area Networking experience preferred.
  • Deep Understanding of Network Services and Protocols (TCP/IP, SD-WAN, DNS, EIGRP and BGP, etc.) across a wide range of hardware.
  • Well versed in network management and automation strategy, design, tools and services.
  • Broad IT knowledge and experience working across various IT and business domains.
  • Strong track record using collaboration to lead and influence in a highly matrixed architecture organization.
  • Strong trouble shooting, analytical and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and ability to influence and drive consensus.
  • A technology visionary, yet grounded in practical business applicability
  • Successful using information technology to transform the business.


Education
B.S. in MIS, C.S. or related field of study
