Our work depends on a Senior Network SME joining our team to support one of our Federal customers in Rockville, MD.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Senior Network SME supporting our Federal customer, you will use your experience in networking design and solutioning to design and implement network infrastructure, and your subject matter expertise to resolve advanced issues. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Provide installation services, in collaboration with hardware vendors, for network

equipment and customer devices that connect to the network equipment.

• Provide support to deploy network infrastructure to data centers and co-location centers.
• Install and configure LANs including switches and associated equipment.
• Provide consultation to understand network connectivity needs and recommend solutions and interview engineers, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements for network design solutions.
• Install, maintain, and manage components of the NAC system.
• Make recommendations across the network environment on emerging trends.
• Manage the network infrastructure, connectivity, and capacity, working with vendors as necessary.
• Install and decommission network components as necessary.

**Location details: Work shall primarily be performed at Government facilities, to include Bethesda, Rockville, and Frederick. The Contractor is authorized to enable Contractor staff to telework when onsite presence is not required or in the event of a government closure.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Must have a B.S. or B.A. in relevant field plus 11 years of professional experience
• Must have at least 8 years of experience designing and implementing network infrastructure and resolving advanced support issues.
• Experience with Extreme Networks technologies, including F5, Infoblox, and Cacti is preferred.
• An Enterasys Certified Specialist (ECS) certification, or similar, is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) is preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the most current ITIL standards; must obtain the ITIL certification within 3 months of hire, if not already held.
