Network Engineer
Job Description
Community Health Systems is a leading operator of general acute care hospitals and outpatient care centers in communities across the United States. CHS affiliates own, lease or operate 83 affiliated hospitals in 16 states with an aggregate of approximately 13,000 licensed beds. Healthcare services are also provided in more than 1,000 outpatient sites of care including affiliated physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, imaging centers, cancer centers, and ambulatory surgery centers.
CHSPSC, LLC seeks a Network Engineer for its Franklin, TN, headquarters' Technology/Infrastructure team.
Summary:
The Network Engineer is expected to possess networking knowledge of an engineer who is in the middle stage of their career. They are expected to learn from the more senior engineers, and put those skills into practice. In addition the Network Engineer should be able to provide leadership to more junior engineers. The Network Engineer performs or assists more senior engineers , or project managers, by executing project tasks as needed. In addition, the engineer will be assigned tickets which they should work to completion within the assigned SLAs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Resolve client issues and restore system errors as needed.
- Maintain a ticket queue and resolve assigned tickets.
- Work with more senior engineers to help solve major issues Maintain detailed documentation on assigned project tasks Work with facilities on their network issues
- Assist or perform project tasks as assigned by more senior engineers, project managers, or team leadership. Experience working on large scale projects is a plus.
- Continue studying toward next- level advancement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by team leadership.
- Advanced certifications preferred. 2+ years network experience. Experience with Cisco networking products is a plus
- Ability to work late hours, and weekends, is a plus.

- Extensive planning & execution of past voice go-lives (healthcare environment a plus)
Qualifications:
Required Education: High School Degree
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree
Required Experience: 2+ years' experience working in a large scale networking environment.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years troubleshooting or design in a large scale Network environment.
Computer Skills Required: knowledge in Excel
