Job Description
Site Reliability Engineering at Motorola Solutions is responsible for end to end automation of monitoring, deployment cycle, testing and performance evaluation. The engineer will create, maintain , support and improve complex private/public cloud operations for Motorola Solutions. This is a progressive and collaborative environment, therefore it is essential that not only the skillset, but also the personality match such an environment.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will :
- Troubleshoot, debug and drive ‘Push-To-Talk' solution issues to resolution by joining live troubleshooting calls with customers, capturing application logs & network captures and escalating the issue to next level engineer if necessary.
- Deploy 'Push-To-Talk' application and configure network for communication across servers.
- Configure Linux routes and iptables according to network requirements.
- Monitor network performance, application performance and service integrity.
- Develop tools and provide web services to parse application logs, system health information and network captures to help in faster debugging and reduce issue resolution time.
- Develop tools to automate monitoring that assess and monitor Key Performance Indicators of the 'Push-To-Talk' solution and provide one stop interfaces that indicate the health of the solution.
- Maintain and enhance all monitoring and debugging tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with Networking Protocols (Layer3 to Layer7)
- Understanding of complex application flows and layers
- Understanding of Web services and microservices
- Understanding of virtualized environments
- Great communication skills
- Ability to tackle customer calls
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Expertise in any one programming language
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 3+ years of professional experience in Networking Protocols
