Network Engineer III Work Location Las Vegas

The Network Architect III will play a technical leadership role in the support of a datacenter network as well as a global corporate network with locations

around the world. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and articulate, recognized as an expert with Cisco equipment (router, switches, firewalls and VPN), related network technologies, automation technologies, and have a

proven history of using management and monitoring tools. Day-to-day

responsibilities include:

  • Must be able to design and architect networks
  • Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues
  • Must be willing to take ownership of the issue analysis and resolution efforts and commit to "doing what it takes" to resolve technical issues regardless of the effort or timeframe required. Triaging as necessary for production, QA & development environments.
  • 5+ years overall experience with at least the last 3 years focused on providing technical support across a broad range of networking technologies
  • Mentor Net1 & Net2: thought leadership and setting positive examples
  • Serve as the team lead for the group
  • Lead systems initiatives and new projects
  • Troubleshooting issues related to production systems, triaging as necessary for production, QA & development environments
  • Work with external vendors/consultants/carriers as required for


troubleshooting and/or initiatives

  • Help define and support process improvements
  • Network Automation - Experience in automation with Ansible tower


Full-time position with on-call duties

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience using Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ISR routers, and Cisco ASR routers in a multi-site environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing firewall and VPN equipment ( Palo Alto and Cisco Firepower)
  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting TCP/IP and Ethernet networks
  • 3+ years of BGP, OSPF, HSRP, DMVPN, and MPLS
  • Experience in setting up and troubleshooting issues with IPSec VPN and GRE tunnels
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Identity Services Engine
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting VPN Posturing
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting 802.1x
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Anyconnect VPN
  • Experience in designing and configuring wireless networks
  • Expert skills with using and diagnosing network captures
  • Expert understanding and practical experience with network security best-practices
  • Experience working with NetFlow data
  • Experience with proxy systems and load balancers
  • Experience with security systems such as Web Application Firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems
  • Experience with compression and encryption technologies
  • Must have experience with defining or testing disaster recovery strategies
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to work individually, within a team, with other groups and with customers
  • Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems
  • concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must have experience supporting networks within virtual environments
  • Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution
  • Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high -pressure environment
  • Strong ability to manage vendor relationships, including contracts,
  • negotiations, and service levels



Preferred

  • Understanding of or experience supporting web servers
  • Understanding of or experience supporting .NET application



Physical requirements include:

  • Lifting up to 75Lbs as required, ability to relocate and move servers and network equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel to perform cable management.
  • This requires tedious detail to properly install, label and appropriately route network cables. Must adhere to datacenter cabling guidelines. Individuals must be able to physically lift, bend, and crawl in tight spaces



Education

Bachelors in an engineering discipline, or Cisco technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
