Job Description

The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or if not fully vaccinated to have an approved accommodation based on valid medical or religious reasons.

1. Full vaccination against COVID-19 will be required for any/all positions that will require travel.

2. For any/all positions that DO NOT require travel, full vaccination against COVID-19 will be required. Medical and Religious accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but may be precluded by mission requirements.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence. Proof of full vaccination, or an approved accommodation, will be required prior to start date.

Description of Duties:

The Network Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Be responsible for conducting site surveys, installing and configuring network solutions; acting as project liaison; and assisting in data collection and validation efforts at each location.
  • Support network design for the IT Services Team; developing and providing detailed designs with supporting implementation, test, and transition plans.
  • Ushering proposed system changes through the Configuration Management process to successful implementation.
  • Support MDA efforts to deploy, manage and maintain Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Software Defined Access (AD-Access).
  • Individual may require up to 25% travel in support of MDA remote site integration activities.
  • Duties to include perform site surveys, installing and configuring network and boundary protection solutions, and assisting in data collection and validation efforts at each service location. Secondary duties to include trouble shooting support of network connectivity issues with Data Center tenants.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches, and be familiar with IP addressing, sub-netting and DNS.



This position will be filled at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.

This position is expected to pay $72,900 - $116,300 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 6 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 4 years of general experience; Master's degree and 2 years of general experience.

  • Must have 6 years of experience in Directory Services (e.g. Windows 2000+ AD, LDAP, DHCP); Operating Systems (e.g. UNIX, Windows, MS Exchange); Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL); Firewall configuration and troubleshooting; Multiple network types (i.e. LAN, WAN, VxLAN, SDN); or Managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telecommunications infrastructures.
  • Must have experience Installing, configuring, and sustaining network components including switches, routers, firewalls and cryptographic devices.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance.



Desired Requirements:

  • Have a Cisco CCNA Certification
  • Be familiar with Remedy Action Request System
  • Be familiar with Solar Winds
  • Be familiar with Cisco SD-WAN and SD-Access
